Copenhagen Wind Quintet

The Copenhagen Windquintet was formed in 1978 from members of symphony orchestras in Copenhagen and has since taken a prominent position in danish musical life with numerous recitals, sckool conserts and broadcast performances on both radio and television.

Their repertoire is broad, ranging from baroque to contemporary music, including several works of which they have given the world premier.

The Copenhagen Wind Quintet has won awards at the international chambermusic competition in Paris 1980, Belgrad 1981 and Colmar 1982. The quintet was also picked to represent Denmark at the biennal "Young nordic Soloists" in Stockholm in 1982, and has given recitals and performed on radio and tv in Germany, France, Belgium, Yougoslavia, Israel, Sweden, Faroe Islands, Poland and Norway.

In 1991 the Copenhagen Wind Quintet received the Danisk Federation of Musicians honors award.
